Cricket Legends Ultimate Chase

Six ways to play against pace and spin. Read the line, length, pace and turn of each ball, pick your shot, time the swing, and decide when to run.

How to play

The ball is released after the run-up. Press a shot key so the bat arrives as the ball does: too early or too late and you edge it or miss. The timing meter after each ball shows how close you were.

Pace bowlers swing and seam it and mix in yorkers, bouncers, slower balls and cutters. Spinners loop it, drift it and turn it: the off-spinner turns it into you, the leg-spinner away (except his googly). Get forward to smother the turn, or go back and play it late.

When a run is tight, a RUN! button appears: press Space or tap it to go, or let it pass to stay. Green means a good chance, amber is fifty-fifty, red is risky.

You can be bowled, caught, LBW (if the ball would have hit the stumps and did not pitch outside leg) or run out. Once the ball is in play, any other shot key fast-forwards the fielding.

On a touch screen you can also swipe on the pitch: up to drive (up-left cover, up-right on side), sideways to cut or pull, down-right to sweep, down to defend; a long swipe lofts it. The stroke is timed from when your finger touches.

Ranked modes (Quick Match, Six Balls to Glory, Last Over Challenge, Daily Challenge) post your score to the leaderboards when you are signed in to Freeplay; the server checks every innings. Achievements and records are kept on this device; your best innings is also saved to your Freeplay account.

P or Esc pauses, C shows the scorecard, M mutes, R or Enter plays again after the innings. Wickets and sixes are replayed; press any key or tap to skip.
